Only Those Who Dare to Fail Greatly Can Ever Achieve Greatly Essay
Robert F. Kennedy’s quote on the need for persistence and exertion is often repeated in diverse contexts. This particular quote is remarkable in the sense that it inspires people to continuously strive towards the ultimate goal irrespective of the many hindrances along the way. Indeed, the road to success is often engulfed with numerous impediments that often deny people the joy of attaining the desired targets (Seeds, 2013). However, Robert F. Kennedy’s quote seeks to demystify the building blocks of success. Therefore, dare fail greatly achieve greatly.
In order to enjoy the fruits of success, it is imperative for people to take out the fear of failure out of the equation. There is nothing like failure but only a mental creation of people (Seeds, 2013). The world is awash with examples of very successful people whose success only became a reality after multiple instances of failure. Michael Jordan once said, “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed” (Jordan, n.d). Michael Jordan’s statement exemplifies the maneuvers of success. But for Michael Jordan’s persistence and determination, he could never have become such a success story.
Failure can be regarded as a path and a means towards success. Based on the argument that people who dare to fail can ever achieve greatly, then failure cannot be regarded as a lack of success (Seeds, 2013). On the contrary, short term failure can be viewed as a journey through which success as a destination can be reached. Indeed, any undertaking in an individual’s life represents an acknowledgement of the possible failures before the ultimate goal is attained. This, therefore, envisages a rugged terrain as an individual trudges down the road towards success. Consequently, the real meaning of failure is not a lack of success; rather, it is part of the challenges associated with the journey to success. In a nutshell, only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.References
