Why is it or is not true that if Hitler had died in 1937, he could be classified as one of the greatest figures in German history?

Adolf Hitler is considered one of the most evil men in history considering his heavy-handed dictatorial leadership and brutal mass murder of millions of Jews and other social outcasts in his quest to create a pure Aryan race. On the other hand, he was a military genius and a smart leader in economic areas as he helped steer Germany successfully through one of the worst economic depressions in history (Rosenfeld, p. 95). In view of the fact that his persecution of the Jews intensified to a greater scale after 1937, it is true that had Hitler died in 1937, he could be classified as one of the greatest figures in German history.
